[extended_width] We’re very excited to bring the first in our series of double-bill performances by Stoney Lane artists at the lovely central London venue of Kings Place.  The opening gig, on Saturday 30th May (8.00pm), features TG Collective and the Mike Fletcher Trio, the first two releases on Stoney Lane.

Tickets are now on sale from just £9.50 – you can book online at the Kings Place website.

TG Collective

The diverse instrumental 7-piece TG Collective bring together an intriguing mix of gypsy jazz, flamenco, jazz and contemporary classical influences, based around the core of guitarists Jamie Fekete and Sam Slater. Creating ‘an exciting, sensuous sound’, TGC perform original music and arrangements, touching on influences as varied as Paco de Lucia, Django Reinhardt and JS Bach, and have built up a strong following with their intense live performances. Featuring flutes, bass clarinet, percussion, trumpet, double bass, violin and the Arabic oud alongside the guitars, TGC released their critically acclaimed album, Release The Penguins, on the back of appearances from BBC1 to their whirlwind tour of jazz festivals in Bulgaria and Serbia.

TGC feature Jamie Fekete and Sam Slater (guitars/oud), Percy Pursglove (double bass/trumpet), Lluis Mather (clarinet, bass clarinet), Holly Jones (flute), Kit Massey (violin) and Joelle Barker (cajon/percussion).

‘You’ll see that they can let their hair down… from gypsy swing to husling, Chick Corea-ish impro… the playlist always keeps you guessing. And the telepathy is always tuneful’The Sunday Times

Mike Fletcher Trio

The Mike Fletcher Trio combines composer and multi-reedist Mike Fletcher on the C-Melody sax and flute, bassist Olie Brice (Paul Dunmall, Tony Malaby, Ken Vandermark) and renowned US drummer Jeff Williams (Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano). The Trio’s distinctive sound draws inspiration from the jazz tradition and combines with it a contemporary approach to improvisation, featured on their debut album, the Spanish-tinged Vuelta, released earlier this year, alongside a tour of 11 major European concert halls, part of the ECHO Rising Stars programme.
